Business for sale Croatia

Business for sale Croatia
Buying business is as simple as buying in store – all you need is information, which you can easily get with locals. Afterwards the process is basically the same as establishing a company. We do not advise you buy business from banks or courts, because they are usually bankrupt and you have to pay all, or at least most of the debts. So we advise to rather buy it off an owner, who is willing to sell, because he has no one to continue doing it. The process of buying on software consists of several steps – contact with a stock broker, setting up a trading account, contacting the bank and transferring funds. Just watch out for market volatility, which can change pretty quickly, so do not invest if you cannot afford to lose.

Businesses for sale are usually posted on court websites or on loaners websites. Those businesses are usually no good, so if you buy them, you have to pay all the debts. Another, better way is to either start a business (it only takes 2000 EUR and around a month to open it). You can check more on that on our website. Another option is to contact a business owner, if he is willing to sell the business for a right amount of money. You can also buy stocks from stock exchange. The process of buying a business has several steps:

1. Contact the owner and try to negotiate a deal (either with or without local help) to buy business
2. Contact a lawyer or a notary to transfer ownership of the company and pay the owner. Fees are around 500€, depending on the scale of the contract.
3. Pay taxes, depending on the amount of money paid.
4. Wait until the process is complete with the tax office, the AJPES organization, social security etc.
5. Open a local bank account.
6. Do business and have fun!

Warning: Buying family businesses can result in a lengthy court process, if relatives do not agree with each other and they are next in line for inheritance. Make sure to check if company is included in inheritance – if it is – do not buy it under any circumstances, unless you are buying a gold mine , that is a big problem in Croatia and a lot of buyers had problems with it, because of lack of inheritance information system.

The process of buying on stock exchange is somewhat different:
1. Contact a stock broker – cannot be a physical person, like in the US, but a registered company – usually a large Croatian bank.
2. Set up a trading account on a bank – around 20 EUR fee.
3. Contact the bank what to buy or sell. Watch out for the delay – stocks can go down or up in a matter of seconds!
4. Transfer funds to or from trading account to a normal bank account anywhere in the world.
